Responsible forest seedling production for 15 years
Partaharjun Puutarha has been growing the forests of the future for 15 years. Today, we cultivate approximately 35 million forest seedlings annually, accounting for about a quarter of Finland’s total forest seedling production.
Our production is order-based, with our main products being spruce, pine, and silver birch. In addition, we grow smaller quantities of other tree species. Our diverse selection of tree species is a conscious choice to support biodiversity conservation.
Please note that our garden does not have retail sales.

The beginning of a healthy forest
We grow our seedlings primarily from genetically improved seed orchard seeds to ensure high quality. Our goal is for the new generation of trees cultivated by us to provide sustainable value for both forest owners and Finland’s forestry industry.
Sustainably grown
We ensure sustainable production through responsible practices. Our cultivation utilizes recirculating water systems that prevent nutrients and plant protection agents from entering water bodies. We minimize water consumption by efficiently recycling irrigation water. Our greenhouses are heated with renewable energy sources, such as recycled wood chips and forest biomass.
